Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester
Doing a marathon distance offroad a week on Sunday.

Started distance training on Sunday 4th with a 24K, then on the 11th Did a 28K then on the 18th did a 36k paired down to 15K last Sunday and doing the same 10k this weekend.

My shins feel lush and pain free.

I realise this doesn't help in the least, I'm just telling you to be smug.

Cut back on your training.
Have your running style assessed.

Sorry fella, never the answer we want to hear when we are training for an event but it is the truth.

How long ago did you do yours 29?

London?

Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester
Yep, did the one marathon and that was enough for me. Will stick with halfs and under.

No mate I last ran that nearly 20 years ago, just a recommendation.

Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester

If you hate it, I suggest switching to Sprint Intervals. Way more enjoyable, and more efficient. It'd prolly lead to you doing the Marathon in an unusual way though, ie 20 sec sprints, 60 secs walking, 20 sec sprint, etc.

Are you running that one Lips?

I'd say I'd join you but after April I don't plan to every run again. ever

Try hitting them hard repeatedly with a rolling pin, that works well.

Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester
Anything under 6 hours for me would be great. I'll probably see P fly past me at 22 miles.

Not funny if you have family in Colchester.

Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester
Haven't decided between the Brentwood or Silverstone one.

When I say I don't care about the time, I mean I really don't care. I could get over taken by a bloke in a diving suit and it wouldn't bother me.

I'll get round - obviously I want to enjoty it as much as possible, but I doubt i'll be doing more than 18miles on a training run.

Hammer29 12:16 Thu Jan 29
Re: Massive Explosion In Colchester
Stating the obvious but a big difference between 13 and 26 miles. You really need to be doing more than 13 miles come March, no matter what time you are planning to do it in. Doing the Colchester or Brentwood half marathon per chance?

I have had shin splints and, I'm afraid, rest is the only way to get rid.
